Male Atoll -Here you find the most popular breaks with the visiting surfers. Some of them are Himafushi (Jail break), Thamburudhoo left and right (a.k.a Honkys and Sultans), Thulusdhoo point (Colas), Kuda Vilingili (Chickens), Airport, etc. Best period to visit this area is April through to October..

Outer Atoll - Namely Laamu Atoll (Hadhumathi) and Huvadhu Atoll. Since these two Atolls are separated by the one and half degree channel and as there is not much land mass to the South of these Atolls, swells generated by the Roaring Forties (a weather phenomena created in the far south of the Indian Ocean) hit the islands of these Atolls unexploited, creating the best waves in the country.

Laamu Atoll - works in the same conditions as North Male' Atoll. Best time of the year to visit this region is March to April and August to November.
The best time to visit Huvadhu Atoll is in North East Monsoon, January to March and also November to October. Although there are waves to ride througtout the season swell is most consistant during January to March.

Some of the best spots are in Male' Atoll, from April through to October these waves works. Three good swells come each month, lasting a couple of days and the best thing is they are offshore.
